Investment Portfolio Tracking

What you can track

Shares, ETFs, funds, and other securities held in any of your investment accounts. Holdings can be entered by hand, or you can import broker history for the heavy lifting.

Adding an investment account

  1. Go to Accounts and create one with type Investment.
  2. Open Investments to see the portfolio for that account.

Importing from a broker

  1. Export a CSV from your broker.
  2. In Investments → Import, pick your broker.
  3. Upload the file. Cisti previews the parsed transactions.
  4. Review and confirm.

Currently supported: Degiro, Interactive Brokers (IBKR), Revolut, Trading 212.

What the portfolio page shows

  • Total Value. Current market value of every holding.
  • Total Cost. What you originally paid (cost basis).
  • Unrealised Gain/Loss. The difference, as both euro and percentage.
  • Estimated CGT. 33% on the unrealised gain, after the €1,270 annual exemption.

CGT tracker

The CGT tracker breaks the unrealised position out by holding, so you can see which ones would generate the biggest tax bill if you sold today. For the underlying rules see the Capital Gains Tax guide.

This is an estimate only. Your actual CGT liability depends on your full circumstances. Talk to a tax advisor before selling.

Tips

Get the historical transactions in. Cost basis only works if Cisti knows the original prices, and Revenue still expects you to know them when you sell. The €1,270 annual exemption resets every 1 January, so if you've got large unrealised gains, think about spreading disposals across tax years.
